MEMORANDUM 29.09.2026
PART VI BIS BMX FREESTYLE Rules amendments applying on 01.01.2027
Finishing a Run
6bis.6.031 A run ends when the time for the run has elapsed.
If a rider is stationary when the time runs out, nothing else will be scored.
Park Competitions
When the time runs out, any trick that is fully completed shall be counted. A completed trick is one in which both wheels are in contact with a flat (horizontal) part of the park surface. Any trick attempted (completed or not) after the time has run out will not be counted by the judges.
Any trick that is fully completed when the time runs out shall be counted.
A trick is also counted towards the rider’s final score if their front wheel is no longer in contact with any surface when time expires. This includes “lip tricks”, “manual links” or “wall ride lines” if initiated before time expires. In the case of a “grind”, the grind must be initiated before time expires meaning that the peg, pedal, sprocket, etc must make contact before time expires. If both tires make contact with a flat surface (not to be confused with a vertical surface such as a wall ride) at any point during a “link” or “lip trick” in a forward or stationary position, the trick will be considered incomplete. If rolling backwards (fakie), the trick will be counted if initiated before time expires. The final trick is reviewed by the judges as a single trick and attempts to intentionally extend time via a lengthy “manual link”, “grind” or “lip trick” would not result in additional points beyond the consideration of a single trick.
Flatland Competitions
The judges shall not consider any trick which is not completed when the time runs out.
